How Your Club or Organization Can Help Us

Homelessness can seem like an overwhelming problem. Many people wonder what one person, club, or organization can do to truly make a difference. Family Promise believes that preventing and ending family homelessness requires a community response. Our partners are a key part of that solution and provide needed resources to make achieving our mission possible.

Family Promise Northern Shenandoah Valley provides a way for local clubs or organizations to help families experiencing homelessness. Our program enables us to meet the basic needs of our families. Families with children make up the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population. Usually, over half of the guests served are children, and most of the children are under the age of six.

Volunteers are the foundation of the Affiliate. There are many ways that your club or organization can help. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for individuals or groups of all sizes where you can make a difference in the lives of families who have suffered the ordeal of losing their home.

Family Promise Northern Shenandoah Valley would love your club or organization to assist us in helping the local community we serve. The ways you can assist FPNSV are:

• Education and Awareness-share FPNSV with your friends or members

• Become a Board Member and Committee Member

•  Prepare Move-In kits or donate non-perishable food items

• Coordinate a fundraising event (walk-a-thon, charity run, etc) to benefit FPNSV

• Make a financial donation

• Coordinate a holiday giving drive within your organization (coordinate with FPNSV Program Coordinator)
