CHURCHENGAGEMENT
How Your Church Congregation Can Help Us
Homelessness can seem like an overwhelming problem. Many people wonder what one person or congregation can do to truly make a difference.

Family Promise Northern Shenandoah Valley provides a way for congregations to work together to help families experiencing homelessness. Our program enables us to meet the basic needs of our families. Families with children make up the fastest-growing segment of the homeless population. Usually, over half of the guests served are children, and most of the children are under the age of six. Nationally, over 6,000 congregations participate in Family Promise Affiliates with literally thousands of volunteers who help families regain their independence.

Volunteers are the foundation of the Affiliate. There are many ways that you can help. Whether you provide a hot meal, help with FPNSV events, or organize an event through your church to benefit FPNSV, you can make a difference in the lives of families who have suffered the ordeal of losing their home.
Family Promise Northern Shenandoah Valley would love for your congregation to assist us in helping the local community we serve. The ways you can assist FPNSV are:
· Coordinate a fundraising event at your church to benefit FPNSV
· Volunteer at a FPNSV fundraising event
· Preparation and delivery of meals (coordinate with FPNSV Program Coordinator)
· Donate non-perishable food items
· Make a financial donation
· Prepare Move-In kits
· Volunteer to be Church Volunteer Coordinator
Please talk with FPNSV Volunteer Manager or Program Coordinator about your congregation's level of interest in assisting FPNSV to end homelessness one family at a time!
